Parking near Campus
How not to get towed or booted
Parking close to classes, condos and events is always tight near UT. Here are some basic tips:
Get a Permit before you move in (most condos require permit and may tow at will the first night)
Park Early on the Street to find well-lit areas early in the evening before 8 or 9 pm
Get a Commuter Pass to park on campus in the many C lots and garages
Buy Assigned Space in a garage or gated parking lot for $50-60 per month
Read the Signs and stay out of Handicap, NoParking, Unloading or 10Minute zones
Find Visitor Spaces or leave a message in the window
Move Your Car on Football Saturdays as many garage and street spaces become reserved for fans
Don't call your landlord or condo owner as most complexes have a property management company to deal with parking and issue parking permits. Most will ask for your vehicle make/model/year/color/tag# and driver license to help control unauthorized parking and keep spaces available for residents.
